How We Work

Insight Therapeutic Consultancy works collaboratively with residential care and supported accommodation services to provide thoughtful, contained, and sustainable therapeutic support.

We understand the pressures faced by services and aim to work in a way that is clear, ethical, and realistic.

Our Way of Working

Our approach is grounded in:

  • Respect for the expertise already within your service
  • Clear professional boundaries and roles
  • Trauma-informed and psychologically safe practice
  • An understanding of systems, leadership, and frontline realities

We work alongside services rather than imposing solutions.

Starting the Conversation

Work typically begins with an initial conversation to:

  • Understand your service, structure, and current pressures
  • Clarify priorities, risks, and areas of concern
  • Consider what type of support may be most helpful

This conversation is exploratory and does not commit you to ongoing work.

Shaping the Support

Following this, support is shaped collaboratively and may include:

  • Therapeutic consultancy
  • Reflective practice for teams or leaders
  • Training or psychoeducation
  • Time-limited or ongoing input

All work is bespoke, responsive to your context, and reviewed regularly.

Delivery

Work may be delivered:

  • On-site or remotely
  • With staff teams, leadership, or both
  • As standalone sessions or as part of a wider programme

Sessions are structured, professionally facilitated, and focused on supporting thinking, not apportioning blame.

Boundaries & Safeguarding

Insight Therapeutic Consultancy does not replace statutory services, clinical treatment, or safeguarding responsibilities.

We work:

  • Alongside existing care and therapeutic structures
  • Within clear professional and ethical boundaries
  • In line with relevant safeguarding and regulatory frameworks

Any safeguarding concerns are managed in accordance with your organisation’s procedures.

Reviewing Impact

We value reflective review.

Where appropriate, we:

  • Review themes and learning emerging from the work
  • Reflect with services on impact and next steps
  • Adapt support as services evolve or priorities change

The aim is to support capacity-building, not dependency.

Ending Well

Some work is time-limited; other partnerships are longer-term.

When work concludes, we aim to:

  • Leave services clearer and more confident
  • Support a planned and contained ending
  • Ensure learning is embedded within the service

Ending well is part of ethical practice.

Working With Insight

We work best with services who:

  • Value reflective thinking
  • Are open to honest conversation
  • Want sustainable, ethical support
  • Recognise the emotional demands of care work

If this reflects your approach, we'd be happy to explore working together.
